ACTIVITY ONE

Roll 1 of each dice and verbalize the number.

7000 + 800 + 00 + 2 = 7802 player one
6000 + 800 + 80 + 7 = 6887 player two

Two Way Play - Choose Greatest or Least as the Winner

This activity is great for working on expanded notation.


ACTIVITY TWO

Play in Teams of Two
Each player rolls one of each dice and verbalizes
their number. Teammates then add their two numbers
together. Teams compare sums, greatest sum is the
winner.

1000 + 400 + 10 + 1 player one team one
3000 + 200 + 90 + 7 player two team one
Total
4708 They would then compare this sum to their opponents.
Greatest sum wins.


ACTIVITY THREE

Use cards 0-9 for this activity.

Each player draws 4 cards

For example, cards drawn were 6 5 7 2

Each player then rolls one of each dice,
builds and verbalizes their number.

4000 + 200 + 60 + 3

Players now attempt to build a number with their
cards that is closest to their rolled number.

Player would build 5267 - That is the closest they
can build to 4263.

Players then compare whose card number was closest to
their rolled number. The player closest to their
roled number takes all the other player's cards.

Try the above activity with rounding.

Players can round both their rolled numbers and
their cards. Play the same rules. Player closest
to their rolled number takes all of the cards.
